My name is Jacqueline Perry. As an artist and a pastor, I experience the wonder of God through art and nature. Before I was ordained I received an M.F.A. in painting from Boston University. In addition to my usual duties serving a busy congregation, I lead art workshops as a way to explore lives of faith.
The purpose of my blog is to bridge my practice of art and my practice of faith; and to bring together nature and art to create friendships and build up caring communites among a variety of persons.
My blog title comes from this quote by Rabbi Abraham Heschel:
“Our goal should be to live life in radical amazement. …get up in the morning and look at the world in a way that takes nothing for granted. Everything is phenomenal: everything is incredible; never treat life casually. To be spiritual is to be amazed.”
